"My daughter recently graduated from CMA and I can honestly say it was one of the most valuable investments that we have ever made. She was given excellent instruction in piano, music theory and ear training, and most importantly, a love for music! A wonderful bonus is that because it is parent/child, I too re-learned how to play piano!"

Testimonials from the CMA Family

CMA was a great program for our family. I love the approach that involves parents in the learning and teaching. CMA involves lots of different methods of learning music and that kept our son interested and engaged.

I’ve been very impressed with the amount of musical knowledge my son gained in a very short time. I took piano lessons for over 10 years and (at CMA) I found I was still learning many new things. I highly recommend this program. It’s a gift!

CMA has been a wonderful experience for me and my son. I think music does make a difference in brain development and just knowing the basics and fundamentals will serve my son all of his life.

I am in love with CMA. I have seen such confidence and growth in my son since he started. I think his confidence growing in piano has flowed over to other areas of his life.

“I am a private guitar and ukulele instructor in Thousand Oaks, and have been teaching in the Conejo Valley for 18 years. I teach ukulele to little ones (ages 5 and up). When they are ready, we move on to guitar. Students study classical guitar along with pop/rock/country/folk genres. I have taught several graduates of the Children's Music Academy. When parents of preschoolers inquire about lessons or I determine a 5- 6 year old is not quite ready for private instrument instruction, I always refer to the Children's Music Academy. The reason: I have experienced the results of what this academy provides for children. I LOVE teaching graduates of the Children's Music Academy. They come to private lessons already knowing how to read standard notation along with a firm foundation in understanding rhythm. They also know the basics in how to paint music with color and dynamics. These students experience a seamless transition to private instrument instruction. The icing on the cake is the parents are already trained in the importance of their key role in the support of music instruction. The parents easily embrace my requirement that they attend the lesson, are attentive, and monitor every practice session checking off all the required practice directives. These children thrive on their instruments because of the wonderful foundation they have received at the Children's Music Academy.”
